As long as they allow missionairies to come in and tell them which God to worship and allow themselves to be baptised in other people's names, they'll always be over religious for others and their false Gods like idiots and dumn a$$e$.
This is 2005 and they have the audacity to allow some ninja looking nuns to come in and tell them some hoggwashed stories and mythologies that they themselves don't really believe in and think they will go to heaven. Poor fools; "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge". |

It is ironic that for someone with so much disdain for "other peoples" religion, and "hogwashed" stories......and who is not "supposedly" an idiot and a "dumb" a$$, you would actually use a quote from the Bible!!! It's found in Hosea chapter 4 verse 6!
Let me tell you why Africans are so "religious":
1. So many of us have found that the "white man's" God, answers prayers.
2. He is the Alpha and the Omega; the first and the last!
3. He died on the cross to bring us back into relationship with God.
4. All the "so-called" scientists, philosophers, etc have not been able to disprove the Bible.
5. We have tried "other" religions and found that they do not satisfy!
6. There is no other name under heaven or earth by which man might be saved, but the name of Jesus!
7. That the "religion" of our forefathers only enslaved us, kept us in bondage, made us idol worshippers. Could not redeem us. Blinded us to the light of God!
No my dear friend, it is you who is a fool! Where do you think you are going when you die??? Yeah......your body will rot, as all flesh will, but your soul.......don't let it rot in Hell too! A word to the wise.........is sufficient! |

Can I just point out that Christianity is not White Man's Religion.
Also.. time has proved The God of Abraham..Yaweh/Jehovah is the only true God.
Please don't forget the bible has foretold the terrible times we will face in the last days/end times.
We know that in His time the wickedness will be destroyed.

I think many of us as Africans get caught up in image and are afraid to think(much less think outside the box) when it comes to spirituality. Many of us dont study the history and context of things, we tend to leave our brains at the door of the church and/or mosque sometimes. Understanding the bible in accurate context has become one of our major issues, as well as the imagery. I hate to see the false pictures of Jesus in Africa(blonde hair blue eyes), which is really a picture of European monarchy and not Jesus. This is also hypocritical seeing as the bible says
6: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of
any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath
, or that is in the water under the earth....
but you can't argue that with some die hards, who have been brainwashed by subtle self hatred mixed with religion.
Many of us don't realize that Christianity was in Africa before the Europeans brought it when you think about the story of the Ethiopian/Kushite eunich. You can even research the history of the Yoruba, there was a Yoruba chief way back in the 1200's if I can remember the story(a Yoruban friend told me) who also witnessed to his ethnic group way before colonization.
I think society has been dumbed down so much we tend to swing the pendulum one way or the other trying to obtain balance, and whatever concept you stand for suffers backlash depending on where the pendulum is swinging. |

DSP well said.
Time and time again I have told people Christianity is African religion.
The so called modern world wants to pretend that God and Jesus
are White. Somewhere along the line, people have fallen into the trap of follow, follow. They do not research or ask questions.
The Bible says, no man has seen God and yet lived. So where do they
get their ideas of what God looks like.
What about the Black Shepherd Girl that Solomon was in love with?
Job too was a black man.
If Mary was a Jew how on earth can Jesus have blonde hair and blue
eyes?
People don't apply logic these days.
Even Jesus encouraged the disciples and the people to do their research.
I think it's more about laziness than anything else. Too lazy to even type a question and google it.
They prefer to listen to the honey coated charismatic tongue of a well dressed man professing to be God's servant. How Sad!!

I see it "deeper" than that! The Bible tells us that in the "end times" there will also be false prophets, men will be lovers of themselves etc....
This has been an "age old" trick of the devil.........if he can bring in some doubt, many will lose faith.
And people must realize that God is a Spirit and we must worship Him in spirit and truth.
Another thing is, people focus on minor issues like whether Jesus was black or white; it was not the "color of his skin" that redeemed us from sin, but the BLOOD of Jesus. This too is also a trick of the devil; if he can keep you debating instead of believing long enough......he's kept you from fulfilling God's purpose for your life!
The Bible tells us that it is not yet clear what we should be like........but that when Jesus returns, we shall be like HIM! |

Frankly, from a pragmatic standpoint I couldn't care less whether Jesus was black, white or brown. I agree, however, that foisting off an image of him as a blond haired, medieval European dude tends to corrupt history and promote an unnecessary Eurocentrism.
For me, that he is my redeemer is enough, his race is rather irrelevant.
It's also of note that currently the non-religious Euros and N. Americans are not even procreating to keep up with their death rate. African and South Americans are booming in population. Religious folks have a vision of the future, a vision to train up children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. That vision will overwhelm the contraceptive/abortion addicted self centered cultures and lead to a new birth of religion in the world. One can argue whether that reality is good or bad, it's more difficult to argue the numbers game. |

A little pointer here,
Who in their right mind gives birth to children they cannot feed
They would end up very dead.
There is hunger and starvation, take a look at Ethiopia, even Nigeria
standing at 140 Billion..
They keep giving birth, there is no money no food. What kind of life is that
And it is the same in the European parts of the world.
Britain has people living below the bread line. Now what does that tell us?
To conclude the world is in a mess which God has foretold us would happen, but he will correct the situation and put things right.

I think everyone has their own concept of what and who God is. The things is that does not change who He is.
As for hunger: Jesus said "the poor you will have with you always" Mark 14:7
Does population have anything to do with it, I doubt it. I think there is more to it than that. In the great US where there is an abundance of food, there are people that die of starvation everyday. Population? I don't know.
We know that God will do nothing except through prayer. If we the believers, who understand the importance of praying God's will on earth and His Kingdom to come, do not pray for the nations, it will remain a "mess", and the devil will continue to rule and wreck havoc with our lives. |

Tha'ts the thing, food should not be something we buy anyway, neither should water. but these concepts and structures built by mankind is what puts people in unfavorable circumstance. That 96 billion spent on Iraq in one day would give the entire US population a college degree, not to mention feed them. It's a scam, but too many of us have our heads in the sand. |

God gave us everything free, and what did Adam and Eve do?
No we are reaping the fruits of their disobedience.
Thank God, it won't be like this forever.

That's why we as Christians have to RISE up and reclaim our inheritance! Remember, God gave us dominion over the earth........................
And something else........sometimes people are so comfortable in their sins, they don't want to change; so they look at Christians as over zealous. |

Or more seriously than that, they believe this is God's intention for our lives; broke, busted and disgusted! |
