Shin nyon kay oh nya menneh...The only ones making sence in all this discussion are Latifah, and kru_Liberiangirl. They are the most liberated ones in all this. Taking someone to court in order to support a child is senceless, unecessary, and destructive to the child and mother. For one thing, we must realize that the process is a polital issue, and made into law only to create jobs for the otherwise unemployed women of this society. How many men work in the child support office in all the 50 states here? They profess that it is in the interest of the child. Tell me how can this be if the father is locked up in jail, his licence suspended, where he cant drive to go to work, nor conduct any financial transactions. You mandate that a man is to pay 50, 100, 200, 300 up to 5,000.00 per month per child. What man in this world on a regular basic, and constantly makes that kind of money legally? We all have days where we scratch our heard to find the next cent to as much as buy gas to go to work, let alone groceries, clothes, toys etc for the children. Now when divorce becomes obvious, women tend to rely on the children issue to further hurt the father for leaving, or she leaving, which ever the case maybe. Now, who becomes the pawn in this drama?
I say support the man , work along with him, then, there would be no need to go to the court for more drama, and embarrassement to the both of you.

The children are ALL of our responsbility. You know that phrase "IT takes a village, etc etc". It was true back home. Even if the couple was together, everybody raised everybody's children. Grandparents, friends, neighbors, cousins, etc. This American culture doesn't support that concept, that's why we have these problems. If everybody was raising everybody's children(whether they're yours or not) child support wouldn't be needed. Some of us still practice this here, but not the same extent as before or back home. |

Liberian women should take Men who do not take care of their kids to court. Use the law. The law will track them any where in America and jail them if they refuse to work and provide for their kids. Men who refuse to provide for their kids are plain selfish, foolish and outright ill-responsible. They should not be given the slack, do not let them off the hook because you think they are going to change, come back and take care of you and your kid.. they most like won't change.
On the otherhand, Liberian women should take the initiative in protecting there body. Most liberian men and women like to have unprotected sex. The end result of such risk behavior will be pregnancy or at worst an STD.
Why women should take the initiative.. You are more like to be adversely affected.
Lastly, desprate women, stop trying to have a baby when you meet a man. That will not make him to marry you... Plan you pregnancy, so that your kids do not end up been bums like the useless men. |

You know I believe that is true......How can you meet a man in 3 months and get pregnant for him? And what is equally amazing is that these women know these men have kids they are not supporting......yet they do not protect themselves! Then they are the first to scream "dead-beat". No I believe these women are the "dead-beat" ones..... if that man is not taking care of his other children...what makes you think he's going to take care of yours?
And I do believe there are instances where the court should intervene....if a man can not be a man or won't be a man....then by golly let the US Court help him be a man! |
