I wanted to get some feed back on how Lieberian parents feel about Liberian men dating African american women.
I ask this because when I told my father about dating an African (even though he is Black himself) he alsmot had a heart attact honestly he was furious about my decision . So by the time the convo was over I was pissed and so was he.
Everythng Bless! |

Cali these folks have no problem with their son's dating or marrying an AM. The only worry I think will be
CASH
. that is manority.
Most folks feels when their son's date or marry an AM. the son will never think about them anymore. That means they will loose their son. So, to protect that, They prefer the son date or marry a woman from homeland(Liberia).
The whole acceptance of dating or marry issue is focus on cash. if an AM have a cash there will be no problem. but, if the son is just a starter.(low income man) there will always be obstacle.
Just how when you told your father about dating an African, He almost got heart attact. I bet his fear was, he was going to loose you. the africa guy gonna get you involve in lot of foolishness. It's vice verse
I may be wrong. It's just my views.
Peace |

This is really sad. I think as Humans its a defense mechanism
to protect what you know from the unknown.
I am a Nigerian/english woman. My father is a Yoruba man,
while my mother is English.
The day I announced that I wanted to marry another Nigerian
from Edo State a non Yoruba , all hell broke loose.
I sat my parents down and tried to reason.
After all my Dad had married a lady from a completely different
continent. Anyway I was given a choice. Marry him and be disowned,
or leave him and remain a family member.
I chose My Man .... I lost my family was scorned an outcast, a year
before my father died, He made his peace and re-instated me back to
where I should have been in the first place.
He clearly could see that here was a love that he could not break for
14 years and eventually he just had to admire and welome his son in law.
Thats my take for now
