How many of you dont know how to handle constructive criticism. Do you take it as a direct threat to your character, when in fact it is often times necessary in order to learn and build your character through your mistakes.
I know many that dont favor well with any kind of criticism, and I don't know the reason for them to react like that .could it be that because as children they may have not recieved it at all. how do we give constructive criticism without appearing to be phony or couching the constructive criticism to a point where the person does not take it seriously? |

Hmmm.. I confess,
Today I was waiting for the shop keeper to finish on the fone, meanwhile this lady jumped infront of me. I then said *excuse me but I am waiting to be attended to*. She got vexed and said I had an attitude.
I pointed out to her that excuse me is not *attitude* especially when it is said softly and not provoking. Anyway I was irritated that she would say this, especially as I had taken time to be polite with my excuse me.
I had to ask myself, maybe I did come across in an abrasive way. Once outside the shop, I went up to her and said *Sister am sorry If I came across as if I had an attitude. I am sorry. She was so touched that I cared to approach her. Infact I had to check myself, because sometimes we do not really hear ourselves the way other people hear us.
I was glad for the fact that she took time to speak her mind, cos it means now I will be extra careful how I speak.
It is all about learning and not being proud!!!
