I don't know how w're going to change, for the better.
I think that some Liberians are racist to other Liberians and i think that most Liberians marry people from their own tribe. i think if we all mix the racism will go away. I wonder why we don't have peace and love in our country.
Look for example:
These are some example of racist sites.
The used the word of unity. Some are even divided into sub-divisions. These sites offer nothing but, promotion for one of thier tribal members.
Bassa Association-USA
http://www.uniboa.org/
Grand Gedeh Association
http://www.grandgedeh.com/
United Bong County Association - USA
http://www.unitedbong.org/Welcome%20Page.asp
Liberian Mandingo Association
http://www.limany.org/
National Krao Assoc.
http://www.krao.org/
United Nimba Citizens' Council
Instead we should be having sites like this for all Liberians.
http://libassocinbelgium.org/
MOPGEL – Gender Equality in Liberia
Liberian Soccer News
Organization of Liberians in Minnesota
Liberian Community Association Of NJ ect.. ect...
I agree, that is why i think there will be no peace. Liberians are one of the most racist people around, like it or not. If everyone never talked about how good their tribe is or how they hate some particular tribes, Liberian don't like each other, that is a shame. Everyone needs to forget the hatred and conflict. The only way that is going to happen is if everyone kept their hatred to themselves. And let patriotism play major role in the country. That's why i will never visit racist Liberian websites.
Arguement or a Question? Anyway you wish to consider it... cool let me hear more people what the think of my views.
Liberian People are racist? Agree or Disagree |

You need to see how Nigerians are still abusing each other. Civil war ended in 1970. 36 years later people are still having tribal wars Biafra/Yorubas hating on each other.
Marrying another tribe is the worst taboo. I cannot speak for Libera, but as a child of an interracial marriage, I have seen so many useless comments about, the Black race dieing out because black men are marrying non black. My point is.. It is the whole world that is sick.
Humans just have this stupid idea about protecting their race.
I keep saying cut me,cut yourself. We both bleed red.
If God did not want us to have children with another tribe or race, why does he make it possible to conceive for someone who is not of our tribe or nationality?
God sees the heart and soul of people. This is what people need to learn to do.
Racism is Evil, The fruit of Satan the Devils works.
The Human Race needs God's intervention. True talk, we are living in the last days. Majority of mankind will not change. All this that we see is signs of the Last Days.
I know which side I am on. All people are beautiful. They are made by God. Those who practice racism will answer to God.
Thats's my take!!!

I think we all are! You're not? Think again.
If you:
1. Only marry someone from your own tribe........yep, you are!
2. Only marry someone from your own country...........Yep, you are!
3. Only marry someone if their skin is the same as yours......you are!
I know we sometimes justify it by saying: "my country man will understand me" .......and I am guilty of that statement.
The thing is,
LOVE
conquers all........skin color, tribalism, racism, every "ism". |

Amen Rinabear.
I keep repeating myself like Polly Parrot.
If we Love, we don't see others as different
in a negative way.

I was perhaps being a bit silly, while my history of Liberia is kind of sketchy, I know enough as to why the racial component is in the Constitution. I was born in Greenville, my Dad flew relief supplies. I've been interested throughout my life in my birth country and am here mostly to learn and interact with those who know a lot more about this country than I do. My dad was severely injured in a plane crash and we left Liberia when I was very small. I live in the states, Seattle, WA. with my beautiful wife and our four children.
I would be interested to know the current perspective on maintaining Liberia as having citizens exclusively of black African descent though.
I'm not sure if this is the best place for formal introductions or what the picture policy is here, but I like seeing pics of others so I'll put one up of myself and my family.

Lovely pic. There is a gallery tho where you can add your pics so we can see them. That way your pics won't get lost in the threads.
I think I will let those who know more about liberia delve into what you want to know.
I am not Liberian and don't know enough to comment.
By the way Welcome to Liberian Online

I hate racism and everything about it. All it means is that somebody thinks they are better than someone else. We are not racially better than anyone - we are all children of God. I don't let anyone in my house who talks racist talk, just is the devil I think!
Maggie
ps// Lovely picture. I too enjoy integration. |

Would it not be boring if we all spoke the same language, dressed similar,
eat the same foods, cooked the same way and looked very similar?
God did make everything he created perfect.

Sisi, I don't think there's any danger or hope of this ever happening - we are all too individualistic. I am all for us speaking one language these days though -

I am not saying there is danger it will happen.
I am pointing out how wonderful it is that there is so
much variety in the world. Which means there is
always something new to learn.
