Not me.
I believe the truth is never told 100% when it comes to anything to do with Africa.

Sorry Foolish
The previews just didn't do it for me; but I'll let you know that "ROMANCING THE STONE" is one of my favorite movies. That's when Michael Douglas was Michael Douglas! |

I saw it. Some parts seemed accurate, others didn't. Never heard any authentic Seirra Leone creole, even the 'Liberian' accents were off(the little they had). I hope this movie does discourage people from buying diamonds which are not rare at all. |

I don't think it will..................you know the old phrase "Diamonds are a girl's best friend"? Well, diamonds have made some new friends................rappers! The "rarer" the gem, the "friendlier" they get.
The average rapper wears anywhere from $30,000. to $100,000. in diamonds on a regular basis. I mean that amount of diamonds is just "ice" on a watch! |

Diamonds will always be in hot demand.
It's just a fact of life.

Most of these kinds of people I've even written off as black/African. They're jus plain lost. |

Those who crave for and put a price on a stone dug out of the ground, are usually people with too much money on their hands. Their priorities are all wrong

Just how do they decide how much a piece of stone is worth?
I don't get it

By the weight.............if it's a certain weight(a fifth of a gram or 200 milligrams), it is assigned a carat; for diamonds that fall below the 200 milligram weight, the point unit is used ( eg .05 carats) read as point zero five carats.
And yes........I do consider the diamond, not as a girl's bestfriend, but as an asset!
CHING-CHING!!!!!!! |

Nooo Nooo..I know all that, but what I mean is
How come diamonds are precious and stones on the beach are not.
I know it's a silly question but I am curious.
