Is it important… is it crucial in a matrimony… or just a trend?
Ladies
- is it important about the size and weight.. or is love just enough to get by..
Gentlemen
- is it a way of showing love or would u just block it….
For me... honestly... It MATTERS!!! |

From what I understand the ring is symbolic of the bond of 2 people.
If you see a woman wearing a wedding ring you know she is off limits.
I guess it is the same for men too.
The problem is that, some people who are not married actually wear
a ring on that finger and sadly if they are seeking they miss out on
what might have been.
Some actually wear a ring to prevent attention.
Now that does show the power of the ring.
Some say that when a man picks a ring it shoud reflect his wages.
Rubbish I say. If he can only afford a piece of string it is okay by me.
There is too much empasis on the diamond ring and very expensive
rings.
Infact a plain gold ring was all it took. But today people have got
BIG ideas about what they want. Fine but ladies please
dont make your man go broke. Remember you will have other bills
to pay and you have to eat as well.

The wedding band is very important and it symbolizes two things to me:
1. Your commitment to our marriage vows and me.
2. The "unbroken" circle/bond we share.
As to the value, the "words" behind the ring is what is most important to me. I actually prefer platinum to gold. Would I make a demand? No. Marriage is about compromise, love, etc. not the size of your paycheck! Remember there are many divorced people, and the man is still paying for the engagement ring! |

You've summed it all up Sisi...I always tell people, getting married is one thing and staying married is another. There are a lot of people out there who are getting married and don't have the slightest idea of the implications. The ring just symbolises that special bond between two people but unfortunately a lot of people nowadays are more concerned with the ring than cementing that bond that the ring symbolises. |

This is just a little something I found out some years ago.
It is true that we as Christians exchange wedding rings,
but did you know that the ring is actually a pagan symbol?
Please don't beat me up. Do your research. I am not saying
don't wear your rings.
There are so many things that Christians do today without
knowing the origins.
For me personally give me your heart and love me, and
of course I am bound to do the same. If you no get money
for ring don't worry cos the ring is just a thing.
I think also alot of men have second thoughts about a
particular woman they may want to settle down with, all
because of this pressure to provide the biggest diamond
ring that is bigger than the celebreties. I beg come back
to the real world o

You know Sisi...........I waited until I felt I was ready for marriage(which is right now)!
It was not about being in love, it was about commitment for me...........love is an emotion based on your senses, and is subject to circumstances and surroundings.
Somedays you wake up and you don't "feel" in love; but if you're committed to a marriage; no matter what you feel on any given day, you will stay in there!
I'm not "dissin'" love or anything..........and love does make the marriage more enjoyable! But I've always known that for me, by God's grace, once I say the "I DO", that's it......no other man for me!!! |

I know what you mean.
I cannot understand women who jump from one man to the next.
I am not judging. For me I have to be with him for better for worse.
People only want the for better part. Forgetting that life is not a bed
of roses.

I would make a good talk show host! Not like Jerry Springer............with the fighting and cussin'.
It would be classy..............international cuisine, world leaders, individuals making a difference in their areas, etc......oh yeah Oprah does that already.
Well then.............just not the ordinary things..........maybe show Africa in a different light. Spot light Africans around the world making a difference, you know that kind of thing. |

You mean like showing Africans having a good time partying
You know that's what we do best.
Can I have a slot showing me cooking jollof rice and fried meat?
Cos it's what I do best
