CPU over temprature error message

Recently my computer started misbehaving and giving me
an error message. CPU overtemperature!!
My base unit is cool to the touch, the settings have
been done, yet it still gives me this same error message.
I was advised to go to google and download Speedfan.
Apparently this software automatically controls the
machines fan speed.

Is there anyone else out there who has had this same
problem and is now using Speed Fan?
I would like to know what your experiences are with
Speed fan, and the cpu over temperature error message.

By the way I was advised by Packard Bell after sales
service technicians to do this. So please don't think
this is a programme loaded with viruses.

I have downloaded and installed last night. So far
so good the error message has not appeared nor has
my pc shut down.

Any advice?

Sisipan, I have not experience this problem before, but my friend did and he is using similar software.
Question, do you leave your computer on throughout the night and day? some time it very important
to turn off your computer after being on for several hours to prevent overheating. also, always make
sure that your computer ventilation area located at the back of CPU is not block at all times, that helps
the fan suck in cool air. Remember, the CPU fan also runs on motor, after several hours it gets very
hot that lead to a shut down. Turning your computer on and off is a good habit. Idea

The most I have ever spent online is probably about 36 hours Shocked

and only because I was playing one of those games where you have so many levels.

I always turn off my pc at the mains and even disconnect plugs incase of lightening.
The base unit has plenty ventilation, nothing blocking it.

I have a question about the software, I hope I don't have to configure
or set anything. Infact I just downloaded it and let it do it's thing.
I was told by the technician that it automatically detects and corrects
anything that is wrong.
So I hope I have not left out anything important.
