In your own opinion:
Who do you consider black and what is to be "black"
Who is American ?
Who is African American and what is means to be African American.
Who is Liberian and who is considered Liberian?
And finally Is it acceptable for African Americans to call themselves Liberians without being born there? |

Ya know this kinda subject is sensitive and can
get very heated, when people start breaking things
down.

So if I am African American and one day all of a sudden due to the
constitution of Liberia which states: People of African American descent are considered citizens of Liberia
I can consider myself Liberian ? |

LB African Americans are not all decendants of Liberians.
African Americans ancestors came from various parts of
Africa.
It all goes back to slave trade times.
So unless you can prove you are genetically Liberian
or you trace your routes back to Liberia then you can
claim Liberia.

So being the fact that its extremely hard to trace back my roots to where I am originally from then I am only left to refer to myself in the most general of terms? African American?
I would love to have some connection with one country, but this cannot be because I wasn't born there.
How can African Americans reclaim their identity? Or at least create a new connection with not only Africa, but a real connection with a particular country in Africa? |

You can do just that! Adopt a country........................because it's difficult to trace your roots, or if you can do some research, try and find as much info as you can; there are websites that can help you with your search or actually do it for a fee.
But I know of African Americans who adopted Liberia as their homes and never left, even during the war! So I guess there's nothing stopping you; unless you would like to denounce you American citizenship and apply for permenant residency in Liberia! |

Well Rinabear07 ( my Sister #2 ) if you put it that way maybe one day I would renounce my citizenship and be a Liberian citizen, but give me a few years.
Except for that I now consider myself Liberian !!! Yah !!!!!!!!!
But wait. Hold on a second.
What will I say when people ask me where I am from and I say I am from Liberia, but then they question my name saying that it doesn't sound African, or they will ask how I am connected to Liberia?
Basically how do i tell people I am from Liberia without people asking for a full background story? |

Only from my last name can you tell what tribe I'm from. None of my other names will tell you that.
In the fullness of time, when you switch, we'll find a Liberian name for you. A name with a "deep" meaning that represents your intelligence, strength, morals and personality! I'll hook you up! |
