I wish my heart were a baby
but,then,it would have to grow.
couldn`t it be a member of the navy
and follow the ocean flow?
I wish my heart were smart
but,then,it woudn`t fall in love.
could it be anything but a heart
that sometimes makes the wrong move?
I wish my heart were a light
but, then, it would turn on and off.
couldn`t it always be right
inorder to be my eternal don?
I wish my heart were a bird
but,then,it would wonder afar.
couldn`t it be heavy as lead
which is not as fragile as a glass jar?
I wish i knew better
but,then, i am all emotions.
loving my heart to the last letter
or shouldn`t i give it the loudest standing ovation? |
