I am now really feeling ashamed 2 call myself a male liberian.
Is there some kind of female shortage in liberia? All the dudes just don´t have/have lost (their)game? I thought such things only occured in south africa?
what a shame.........................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I apologize ladies 4 my sex caveman attitude.
I believe the government should take some drastic actions( I read they have dished out life sentences for rapists Include education and therapy)
2 remedy this disgraceful act on the part of liberian males.maybe import iron panties 4 the vulnerable ladies. |

While not condoning rape..
Have u not noticed that rape is an international
problem?
Stop acting like the Liberian men are the only
ones acting out this atrocious henious crime.
Anyway, you do need to talk to a therapist, as
you really seem to have some deep seated issues
going on.

Denzel, my question is this: How can a three year old, four year old, seven year old child etc etc... sexually arouse a full grown man??? Could some of the men here please answer this?? Is it possible or have some Liberian men gone crazy? I find it hard to believe that it is evening happening on a daily basis in Liberia. Do you think that therapy would work? Or is this some of the wickedness that we have inherited from all those that came to "liberate" Liberia and Liberians? So sad. |

"SisiPancake"While not condoning rape..
Have u not noticed that rape is an international
problem?
Stop acting like the Liberian men are the only
ones acting out this atrocious henious crime.
**************************************
Anyway, you do need to talk to a therapist, as

going on.
Excuse me??
Kindly use a dictionary if you are not familiar with the statement
I do not condone rape. Check this one too *stop acting like
Liberians are the only ones acting out this ATROCIOUS HENIOUS
CRIME
Seems you do have a problem with understanding English.
My point is this...You focused on Liberian men, and I am merely
pointing out that all nationalities have been doing this.
It has been going on for years and years all over the world.
In Africa most is covered up because of cultural fears, and
being tainted. Most attackers will tell their victims, they deserve
it and that if they tell anyone, they will come back and kill
the family or their Parent's.
In the Western world, victims are starting to speak up, they
don't find this an easy task since it means reliving the trauma,
and having to face/identify the attacker in court.
With the wars too all over the world, you find that even the so
called local and international armies attack women and children
sexually, just because they want to, or in return for food, water,
and first aid/medication.
Please use an online dictionary !!!
Now How can you call another man a potential rapist?
I think you owe the Proffesor an apology. That was HARSH.
I believe Proffessor and myself are not the only ones who
notice your strange/wiered topics and comments have been
made to that effect.
If anyone wishes to speak/express themselves in the open
forum then please be prepared for various replies.
People will not always tell you what you WANT to hear.
Insulting someone is however a different thing. There is
a way to express yourself without being insulting.
I believe one of the rules of this forum includes not abusing
people... if you have not read the rules of the site, please
do so.

sisi u and your professor/pupil(whatever)have grammar defiency issues and perhaps both of u neeed extra classes in english. i am fluent in 4 international languages(english, french, spanish and portuguese) and i teach 3.
back 2 the issue at stake. u i refuting/downplaying an act/behavior that is destroying the very fabric of the liberian society and at the same time having the audacity to question my sanity. it´s u whose sanity needs 2 b FBI(ed).
u i questioning my post(along with r pro RAPISTS INC. WHATEVER) without giving me any logical reason why u i being negative, un-liberian and pro rapists inc. liberia. what does that say about u?have u ever seen/spoken 2 a rape victim?well, i have and it ain`t hollywood.remember i lived in jo-burg(S.Africa).
u spectate from wherever u i and respond 2 issues u i ignorant of, cuz u have the luxury of being uninvolved/untouched due 2 nautical miles.WELL, NEWS FLASH MY SISTER, SOME OF US CANNOT( I mean the anti-rape liberian brigade)AFFORD 2 HAVE THAT LUXURY OF INSENSITIVITY AND INDIFFRENCE WHILST OUR DAUGHTERS/ SISTERS/NIECES/MOTHERS ETC. ARE BEING RAPED AND THREATENED BY ALL GROUP OF CAVEMEN CALLING THEMSELVES LIBERIANS JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE BORN THERE.
if u have a problem with my use of the word iron panties(it was intended as a pun and if it offends/offended any sensibilities/anyone, then, i sincerely apologize 2 them.it was not my intention 2 offend/provoke any female membe of this thread cuz the issue at stake is serious and it concerns us all) then be girl enough 2 say so but don`t dare question my sanity(4 the record,my sanity is intact, and i think it is the pro rapists inc. brigade that needs 2 c dr. Phil) in view of the issue at stake.
i will not retract one letter fron what i wrote.i am of the strongest conviction that the rape surge in liberia is wrong/dangerous(i`m sure many will agree except ,probably, the pro rapists inc. lobbyists) and is giving the country, most especially us guys, a bad......bad....name. call me names if u may, but, i won`t budge! 2 much is at stake. i have my sisters and female relatives in liberia. probably, u don`t................
OTHER NATIONALITIES DON`T CONCERN ME, LIBERIA DOES!
WITH HINDSIGHT IN MIND, I REST MY CASE. |

.......OK....all joking and jabbing aside, let me seriously address your original question. The reason that unspeakable crimes are still going on in Liberia is that many of the youth lost their respect for law and order during the war. As a result, they have no source of guidance or fear of punishment. In the old days, even though young people had friskyness in them and the capability to do bad things, there was always the understanding that punishment was imminent. The elders and chiefs were responsible for maintaining law and order by delegating punishment, and they did a good job.................When Taylor destroyed that respect for the old hyarchy by teaching his child soldiers that the gun has power over the elders, then the true fabric of government in Liberia was ripped apart. To repair this tear will be the biggest challenge for all Liberians that want to see a bright future. |

Denzel how can you say other nationalities don't concern you?
You forget that Liberians go to other countries and also act out
this unspeakable crime. You also forget that other nationalities
come to Liberia either to live or for holiday, and yes they do
hurt our women and daughters. And what about the fact that
even women rape children?
Since the world is a very small place and we all travel and use
the internet..hmmm don't forget that someone from overseas
could be grooming one of our women / daughters over the internet.
Trust me it does happen.

sisi, do u read what u write? don`t u know that what u i saying is advocacy of this heinous act/crime perpetrated against the women of liberia?i thought u being a woman would b against rape and rapists(but then, what do i know, i am just an anti -rape campaigner)and write something condemning the act.
i am extremely disappointed in u and i pray that r clouded view be disabused and that u c this scourge 4 what it really is;evil. concerned-people/true- patriots all over the world would first condemn rape of any kind b4 justifying/giving reason(s) why it is done. i have yet 2 c r condemnation.it is only r advocacy and pathetic justification that i speaking volumes!
there is no justification 4 this `surge` (probably, u have difficulty in understanding the word `surge`) of rape in liberia.it is as if u want 2 justify the massacre, rape and destruction that went on during the war.this is not r everyday rape situation(i know rape exists in every country), to the contrary, it is the alarming increase(`surge`) of rape cases that people(myself included)are greatly concerned about.
i would love 2 c r justification 4 the rape surge printed in one of the liberian periodicals or u explaining r pathetic justification 2 some of the victims and their families. that would b the day when u meet reality and get off that high stool of being insensitive and indifferent due 2 r distance.
those i real people and not just statistics. women i being re-victimized at a time when they should live in ralative peace and try 2 4get all the suffering they underwent during the war.
r continued denial(probable naivete) of the dire rape situation in liberia and r advocacy of rapists(couple with r bystander`s justification/explanation) have me completely baffled, 2 say the least. however, 4 the sake of liberia and the rape victims, i strongly hope u never aspire 2 b justice minister or prosecutor. God help us, the day that happens!.
AS I STATED EARLIER, I AM A LIBERIAN, THEREFORE, I AM PARTICULARLY CONCERNED WITH ISSUES THAT AFFECT LIBERIA. MY SISTERS AND FEMALE RELATIVES I IN LIBERIA, THAT IS WHY I AM PARTICULARLY CONCERNED WITH THIS ISSUE OF RAPE. |

I think that you all are expressing the same views, but somehow it's not coming through to you all.
Sisi
Like you said: rape is an international problem; Liberian, Nigerian, Chinese, Indian etc. all these nations have a problem with rape. Check out "TO CATCH A PREDATOR" a program that tracks and catches these secret criminals.
denzel
The reason rape "seems" so prevalent right now is because they are doing it without hiding or shame!
Liberian men ( Sisi, because this is who were familiar with) have practiced Pedophelia for generations; Tolbert (as in President Tolbert) lowered the age of concent to 12yrs.
Chiefs in the hinterland, married virgins at the tender age of 11yrs.
I know of too many "house girls" that were raped, but nothing happened; when they got pregnant, they were thrown out of the home and called "fast" and "good for nothing" and never got a day in court. They lived with that shame.
I have an aunt that was raped, she had the baby and left the country as soon as she could and never looked back; at baby or country! She was raped by the very people who were supposed to protect her!
Women are being raped for different "reasons" ( not condoning denzel, just stating):
East Africe: they believe if they have sex with a under aged girl, it would cure them of AIDS. No joke!
US: it's a power "thing". Having dominion over the "weaker sex".
Liberia and other parts of the world: the tightness of the vagina.................excuse me for just putting that out there.
The reasons does not legitimize the act, nor does it explain it; all it does is put facts out there, the more aware we are the better we can address the issues at hand. |
