Sex addicts are they for real or is that just an excuse men use when they are caught with their hand in the "cookie" jar?
In recent years, there have been several celebrities who have admitted to the "disease" and have been "treated" and are now "sober"! It seems almost as if this is a disease that afflicts the wealthy!
Am I wrong? Are there other recovering sex addicts out there in the "real" world? Or is this just another made up excuse for men to use to cover their infidelity? |

Yes miss Rina. Sex addicts are real and its not just celebraties. It's just so happen that their live are more public then the rest. I remember when I was doing my internship at the hospital as a therapist, my supervisor use to tell us about her past job experience as a therapist for sex addicts.
She would always say she didn't like her job because of all the sexual comments that were made to her daily during therapy session. In this day and age there is no limits to the things people get addicted to. |

I guess when one or I think of addiction, there is gratification, but how does one become addicted? I watched a program, and this guy who was a recovering sex addict, said that the thrill was with just any woman; there was no attraction.
Again that brought another question to mind, why don't prostitutes become sex addicts? I mean they are doing it for the money and it's with numerous partners, so how is it these people are able to leave a "profession" that one would think would lead to addiction? And seemingly, "nice" guys get addicted? You understand the confusion?
That's why I'm just not convinced that it is a disease! Even when in relationships, when the attraction is new and strong, there is a tendancy to........... "be like rabbits"!
In this American society, where there's a syndrome, or excuse for everything, it's just hard to believe! |
