worthy I am not
yet He loved me
my sins He did blot
I did not want to be redeemed

ungrateful I be
why should He even love me
when I keep sinning
there are other precious beings

in the midst of trials
He kept me safe from harm
hanging over hell’s bowel
His mercy shielded me all around

but I can’t help but feel inadequate
tis so hard to get rid of the pain and hate
unimportant. useless. a condemned sinner
thru Him I am still a winner

a privilege I don’t deserve
when He sacrificed Himself
He loved me from the start
Lord take control of this cold heart
