The Liberian Seal
The palm tree represents the source of the Liberian
product, palm oil, which has greatly enriched our
land. The wheelbarrow represents the work of our
fathers who cleared the forests to plant crops.
Theshovel represents the hard work of miners, the
mineral wealth in the Liberian hills. The white dove
carrying a scroll represents peace and the scroll
represents wisdom and knowledge coming to the
new nation, Liberia. Across the sea, a rising sun, a
sign of a new republic rising in the world. The sailing
ship represents the coming of the first colonists from
America.
