Money Changers
Travellers cheques are almost useless. If you get stuck, try the Liberia United Bank where you can change them, usually for a nominal commission. Other than this bank there no other moneychangers in Monrovia or any of the other towns.
The only other option is the thriving black markets everywhere in Liberia. Banking hours are Monday to Thursday 9.30am to noon and Friday till 1230pm.
